On September 21, the Richmond RCMP 2021 - 2025 Strategic Plan was presented to and approved by the Mayor and Council for the City of Richmond. The 2021 – 2025 Richmond RCMP strategic plan is built around the theme of Our Community, Your RCMP.

It is a theme that is intended to serve as a promise to our detachment members, employees, volunteers and our community, that our initiatives, no matter what the size, is centered around our vision and goal of making Richmond the safest city in Canada, said Chief Superintendent Will Ng, Officer-in-charge of Richmond RCMP.

The City of Richmond works closely with the RCMP to keep our residents, businesses and visitors safe, said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. This document reinforces that commitment through strategies that will promote public safety and ensure priorities and resources are allocated where they will make the greatest impact.

The strategic plan forms the foundational building blocks of the Richmond RCMP planning process for the next five years. Part of this process included consulting with stakeholders to ensure the plan fairly represents and reflects the diverse landscape of our community.

Through that consultative process, Richmond RCMP engaged with community stakeholders and the public whose feedback informed and guided the formation of three Strategic Pillars. Those pillars are areas of focus that will serve to define the vision for the work and initiatives undertaken by Richmond RCMP over the next five years. The three Richmond RCMP strategic pillars are:

We have served Richmond with pride for over 70 years, said Chief Superintendent Ng, The Richmond Detachment is your RCMP and we will keep working for you, our community, to protect and promote safety in Richmond.

The approved 2021 – 2025 Richmond RCMP strategic plan is available on the City of Richmond website.
