
Three charges laid after discovery of alleged drug lab following structure fire

Man charged with three Cannabis Act offences after alleged drug lab discovered following a structure fire.
At approximately 2:04 pm on July 17, 2020 Richmond RCMP responded to the 5000 block of Calder Court to assist Richmond Fire. Richmond Fire were on scene for a structure fire and subsequently located an alleged drug lab inside of the residence.
Richmond RCMP Drug Target Team obtained a search warrant and executed it with the assistance of the E Division Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team. Evidence, consistent with an alleged cannabis drug extraction lab, were located and seized from the residence.
The subsequent investigation has resulted in three charges being laid against Tieng Wei Tsao. Tsao has been charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of selling, Section 10(2) Cannabis Act;
- Altering cannabis by use of an organic solvent, Section 12(1)(b) Cannabis Act;
- Possession for the purpose of distribution, Section 9(2) Cannabis Act.
