Shooting Incident – 1 km east of 17130 Cambie Road, Richmond

Richmond RCMP is currently on scene 1 km east of 17100 Cambie Road, Richmond, for a report of a deceased male located by the public.

On August 7, 2021, at approximately 09:32 hours, Richmond RCMP were called to the scene of an unresponsive male found in the ditch. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male who may have been killed during what appears to be a shooting incident. The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this incident is targeted and does not appear to be a random act. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Richmond RCMP. Further details will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
