The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death throughout the province.

The Lower Mainland ICARS unit is located in Surrey at the BC RCMP Headquarters at Green Timbers and is responsible for collisions from Pemberton to Boston Bar. The unit averages over 200 calls per year, and is comprised of 20 police officers that are municipally and provincially funded.

ICARS team members are expertly trained in the use of highly sophisticated equipment that helps them investigate the factors that caused a collision. ICARS also assists policing partners with major crime scenes through aerial (drone) photography and surveying/3D Laser scanning to create scale diagrams.

ICARS members provide expert testimony in court to support major investigations.
