Police seek help from public to identify suspect

Just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023, Comox Valley RCMP received a report of an indecent act in Ruth Masters Greenway on Powerhouse Road in Courtenay.

An adult female reported to police that she was walking with her dog in the area when she said hello to another man walking along the trail. A short time later, she saw the man again, but this time he was performing an indecent act. She saw the suspect leaving the area in a small black car.

The suspect was described as wearing a short sleeve button up shirt with a flower pattern that was beige and yellow and loose fitting beige shorts that came down to his knees.

A composite sketch of the suspect has been completed and released to the public in the hopes of identifying the individual.
