Statement - Arrest of Canadian citizen returning from Syria

On October 26, 2022, the RCMP arrested 50-year old Kimberly Gwen Polman at the Montreal-Trudeau Airport. She was transported to British Columbia, and remanded into custody by a Judge to appear the next day for a bail hearing.

On Thursday October 27, Kimberly Polman appeared in Chilliwack Provincial Court for a bail hearing in relation to a Terrorism Peace Bond application initiated under s.810.011 of the Criminal Code. Ms. Polman was released from custody and is subject to a number of bail conditions.

As the RCMP criminal investigation of Ms. Polman remains ongoing, there will be no further comment on this matter at this time.
