1. 2022-3630/3631 – Disturbance
On July 24, 2022, Whistler RCMP responded to two reports of disturbance as a caller saw a man smashing mailboxes near Balsam Way. Members attended, located the man, and arrested him for causing a disturbance. Upon release when sober, police issued the man a provincial violation ticket for being drunk in a public place, and a bylaw ticket for causing a nuisance. There was no damage to the mailboxes.

2. 2022-3587- Drug Possession/Obstruct Peace Officer
On July 21, 2022, a member, inside the detachment, heard a commotion outside. The member went outside and saw a man snorting a drug believed to be cocaine. When the member arrested the man, the man ran away, but was caught shortly after. Police released the man with a future court date.

3. Proactive Traffic Enforcement
A priority for the Whistler Detachment as identified by community is traffic safety. Members regularly conduct speed enforcement. On one particular shift, members did a safety check on Highway 99, and issued 21 violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act, including two excessive speeding tickets and drivers’ cars impounded.

4. 2022-3592 – Mischief
On July 22, 2022, Whistler RCMP received a report of broken window at a local business in the 4200 block of Glacier Lane. A man tore off and broke a pamphlet holder from a wall, and smashed a window. Area video surveillance captured the man on camera. He was later identified, and police arrested him for mischief and released him with a future court date.
