Police respond to 216 calls from February 22 to Feb 28

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 216 calls from Monday February 22, to midnight on Sunday February 28 2021. Of those calls approximately 93 occurred between Friday 26 and Sunday the 28. Below are some highlights from calls for service received:

• Assault with a Weapon – File: 2021-1452

On the evening of February 22, 2021 the Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver new Munroe Street. Members were updated en route that two people had been assaulted by an unknown man with a heavy-duty metal chain. Members arrived on scene where they located a victim who was bleeding profusely from his head. It was reported to Police that the victim had observed a man and woman causing a disturbance. A bystander approached the pair to take a photograph of their license plate which resulted in a physical altercation between the two women. One victim attempted to restrain the suspect who had become aggressive. While the victim attempted to restrain the suspect, the other suspect struck the victim several times with the chain. A witness captured the event on video and was also struck by the chain during the process. The injured victim was brought to hospital by ambulance. A short time later, Police located the suspect and was arrested for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, fail to comply with probation order and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and held in custody for a bail hearing.

• Drug Seizure / Impaired Driver – File: 2021-1575

On the afternoon of evening of Friday, February 26, 2021 the Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a man passed out in a running vehicle in the 4700 block of Lazelle Ave. Police attended and located the driver slumped over the wheel with the vehicle keys still in the ignition. Members observed drug paraphernalia on the center console. The driver was roused and a roadside Field Sobriety Test was completed where the driver was believed to be impaired by drug. The driver was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Police conducted a search of the vehicle where they located and seized a flare gun, 5 knives, 3 metal baseball bats, 3 cans of bear spray, 1 hatchet, 6 bear bangers, a homemade edged metal weapon and two wooden clubs. Also seized was $2804 of Canadian Currency, 82.8 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 13.6 grams of suspected Cocaine, 21.7 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 1.9 grams of suspected Heroin and 0.7 grams of suspected Psilocybin. The suspect was transported to Terrace RCMP Detachment, later released and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

• Cause a Disturbance – File: 2021-1559

On the afternoon of Wednesday February 26, 2021 the Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a man passed out on Lakelse Ave. Members attended and located an adult man who was laying on his back mumbling and refusing to get up. Members assisted the man to his feet who was observed to have slurred speech, poor balance and smelled of liquor. The man was placed under arrest for Cause a Disturbance and was lodged in Terrace Detachment cells to be released when sober.

• ASSIST w/ WARRANT – Sandra LOENDORF – 3 x Unendorsed Warrant

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace files: 2020-307, 2019-4098 and 2019-12422. Sandra Loendorf is wanted for charges of Impaired Driving and Drive While Prohibited. Loendorf is described to be 50 years old, 5’8 tall, Caucasian, approximately 155lbs with brown hair and green eyes. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted.

• ASSIST w/ WARRANT – Dustin BIRD– 2 x Endorsed Warrants

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace files: 2020-12138. Dustin Bird is wanted for charges of Drive while Prohibited. Bird is described as Caucasian, approximately 35 years old, 6’0, 155lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted.

• ASSIST w/ WARRANT – Jesse ROY– 2 x Unendorsed Warrant

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace files: 2020-3224 and 2020-3361. Jesse Roy is wanted to for charges of Breach of Probation, Drive while Prohibited and Drive with Suspended License. Roy is described as Caucasian, 24 years old, 5’11 and 153 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted.
