Enforcement

The Community Policing Section includes police officers that utilize fully marked and unmarked police vehicles. Community Policing's enforcement component is a new addition to Community policing, but it is already evolving into one that is both pro-active and multi-faceted. Here are some examples of Community Policing enforcement action:

  1. Enforcement projects that deal with selected community complaints to police;
  2. Projects targeting problem areas/locations and prolific/chronic persons;
  3. Assisting General Duty and other Detachment units as uniform cover, and;
  4. Taking over some investigations which involve clients of interest to Community Policing or which require a more extensive problem solving approach.

Consequently, operational skill sets are becoming an important asset to augment Community Policing's already well-established crime prevention programs.
