From 24/7 patrol and emergency response to proactive and regional policing, our team is always working to create safer, healthier, more vibrant neighbourhoods. On average, we handle over 68,000 calls each year ranging from reports of lost or found property and general inquiries to life and death emergencies and everything in between.
To manage this dynamic and demanding mandate we work hard to develop partnerships and innovative approaches that make us more proactive, more effective and more connected to the people we serve.
Who We Are
The Coquitlam RCMP team is made up of sworn police officers, civilian members of the RCMP, municipal staff and hundreds of volunteers serving the communities of Anmore, Belcarra, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam and the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm First Nation.
We are one of the largest RCMP detachments in Canada, serving a diverse population of almost 200,000 spread over an area that includes everything from provincial parks and beach areas to dense residential neighbourhoods and active retail, commercial and industrial zones.

2023-2026 Strategic Plan
Coquitlam RCMP is proud to introduce the detachment’s Strategic Plan which will guide our operations from now to 2026.
The strategic plan lays out the priorities and objectives we will pursue between now and 2026 to maintain public safety and enforce the law in the communities we serve. This document outlines the focus of our work in four priority areas, selected to address the unique local contexts of our community:
- Partner with the Community
- Promote Public Safety
- Target Criminal Activity
- Support Our People
We remain committed to the RCMP’s core values: we act with integrity, respect, compassion and accountability, and we serve with excellence. As we execute this plan, you will see these values at the heart of what we do, every day, to keep our communities safe.
