Officer in Charge

Superintendent Shaun Wright is the current officer in charge of the Prince George Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Supt. Wright grew up in Saskatchewan and joined the RCMP in 1996. His career began at the Surrey Detachment where he gained experience in various units within the Detachment, including frontline policing, the Gang Enforcement Team and the General Investigations Section.

In 2013 he transferred to Mission Detachment as the Operations Support NCO and then to BC RCMP Headquarters (E Division) in the Professional Responsibility Unit, before his transfer to Prince George in 2016 as the Operations Officer. He was promoted to the Officer in Charge of the Prince George Detachment in 2019.

Supt. Wright is an engaged and personable leader with a passion for his job and making Prince George an even safer place to live.
