Project Lavender

Project Lavender

Project Lavender is a program which aims to empower youth to make positive choices and understand the importance of engaging in healthy relationships.

This program was developed by the Surrey RCMP in collaboration with female youth from across the Surrey School District. The content of Project Lavender is a direct result of this youth consultation process.

The topics discussed in the Project Lavender presentation include texting and sexting, understanding sexual exploitation, drug and alcohol awareness, and healthy relationships. These themes are underscored by videos featuring local young women who have overcome adversity by following their passions.

Project Lavender is focused on giving our youth the confidence to accept their challenges and strengths with compassion and resiliency so they can make positive life choices.

Project Lavender is a one-hour presentation geared towards students in grades 5-10, however it can be adapted to suit community groups and organizations who engage with youth. Presentations are facilitated by Surrey RCMP members from the Youth Unit, Diversity & Indigenous Peoples Unit, and Surrey Gang Enforcement Team.
