Family photo album found on Alberni Street
An old family photo album containing pictures from 1800 to 1993 has been found and was turned into the Powell River RCMP on March 7, 2024.
The album contains family photos and memorabilia inscribed with the surnames Dowling and Brooks.

Powell River RCMP recover items stolen from Big ‘O Tires
On March 12th, 2014, Powell River RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at Big ‘O Tires on Joyce Avenue. Business owners reported that they had received a call from their alarm company and when they arrived at the business, they observed the suspect running away along Joyce Avenue.
A video canvass of the area was conducted and police tracked the suspect to a residence. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and during the execution of the search, several items that had been stolen from Big ‘O Tires were recovered by police.
The investigation is ongoing.

Powell River RCMP arrest suspect for possession of stolen property
On March 11, 2024, at approximately 5:00 am, Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle that had been parked in the McDonalds parking lot. Several tools and personal items had been taken from the vehicle.
Police conducted patrols in the area and observed a suspect carrying some items that matched the description of the items taken from the vehicle. The suspect was detained and police confirmed that the items belonged to the vehicle owner.
The suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property and released to appear in provincial court. Police conducted a search of the woods nearby and several more items that had been stolen from the vehicle were located and returned to the owner.
