Kelowna RCMP are issuing a public warning

Kelowna RCMP are cautioning the community after an attempted sexual assault of a child in the area of Glenmore Drive North and Summit Drive that occurred on October 24, 2023.

At approximately 8:15 am, a male approached and sat beside a youth who was waiting for a bus at a BC Transit bus stop in this area. The male engaged in a brief conversation before allegedly assaulting the youth. The youth fled the area and was followed for a brief distance by the suspect.

The male is described as South Asian descent with an athletic build approximately 5-foot-11 to six-feet tall with a two to three-inch black beard and a mustache. The male could be in his late 40s to early 50s with a tattoo on his upper right arm. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with black jeans and a leather jacket and Air Jordan shoes.

Given the serious nature of this incident police are alerting the public and seeking information to aid with their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police said Cst Mike Della-Paolera media Relations Officer with the Kelowna RCMP.
