2022-5908 - Noise bylaw

On November 28, 2022, at 11:30 p.m., police received a noise complaint in relation to a party in the 2300 block of Cayley Cls. The renter complied with the member’s direction in reducing noise, and police remind people of and to respect the RMOW noise bylaw that prohibits noise between the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.

2022-5890 – Theft from vehicle

On November 27, 2022, sometime overnight, thieves broke into and rummaged through a car parked along the 2400 block of Cavendish Way and stole a mitten but left other items and documents. The thieves left behind some items that police seized to examine for evidence, however, the results were negative. After investigating, no video surveillance, witnesses or evidence at scene lead to any suspects and this file has been concluded.

2022-5785 et al – Immediate roadside prohibitions

Over the last week, members issued four 90 day driving prohibitions to drivers who showed signs of impairment. In the first file, a member on routine patrol saw a driver who was driving circles in day lot 5. In a second case, members on foot patrol spotted a driver on the Village Stroll. In the third file, a member was on patrol when he saw a car idling in a parking lot. In the fourth case, a friend was driving an unlicensed driver’s car. In all instances, driver’s breath samples indicated FAIL, and police impounded their cars 30 days. In three of four cases, drivers were local. Another driver received a three day driving suspension and had their car towed after providing breath samples that showed WARN, this driver was from out of country.
