Fort St John RCMP arrest suspects in overnight break and enter

On November 25, 2022 at about 3:40am in the morning, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of an intrusion alarm from a compressor site in an enclosed compound in the Charlie Lake area.

Front-line police officers attended and observed a suspect vehicle flee from police by ramming through a second gate and getting the truck stuck in a wooded area. The Dodge 3500 had been stolen out of Beaverlodge, Alberta area. Stolen items were located by police inside the cab of the truck.

With the assistance of the Fort St John RCMP Police Dog Services Unit, two suspects were located hiding in the wooded area after abandoning the stuck vehicle, and arrested.

The first suspect was brought back to the detachment, then released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

The second suspect has been arrested on outstanding warrants and held in police custody while the investigation continues.

Both suspects have history in the Beaverlodge, Alberta, Dawson Creek, and Fort St John, BC areas and neither person has a valid driver’s license.

"The Fort St John RCMP take all reports seriously", said Cst Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP detachment.  "The quick response of our front-line police officers interrupted the suspects while still at the scene and the police services dog unit was invaluable in locating them while hiding in the area."
