2022-5572 - Attempted theft

On November 6, 2022, at about 7:25 p.m., police investigated a report of attempted theft from the 4800 block of Glacier Lane. A man tried to steal a television from a lobby area but left the scene without it when confronted. The man lives in the area; however, the property did not belong to him, and police continue following up to identify him.

2022-5578 – Single vehicle rollover collision

On November 6, 2022, just before 4:30 a.m., Whistler Fire Services, BC Ambulance Service, and police received a report of a single car rollover collision on highway 99 and Blueberry Dr. The driver was stuck in the car that was blocking the southbound lane. The driver hit a sheet of ice, going off the roadway and striking the rock fall, causing the vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side. Fortunately, the driver was not hurt.

2022-5556 – Driving prohibition

On November 6, 2022, just after midnight, a member on routine patrol saw a car speeding and ignore a stop sign in Lot 3. The member did a traffic stop and formed grounds to believe the driver was impaired. The driver provided two breath samples into a screening device and results showed FAIL, meaning the driver should not have been driving legally. The driver received a 90 day immediate roadside driving prohibition, had their car impounded, and received two violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act.

2022-5529 - Fraud

Police received a report of fraud that happened on November 4, 2022, when a complainant had an unauthorized e-transfer of $2800 from their account. This investigation is ongoing. Police remind people to regularly check bank statements and contact their bank if anything seems out of norm.
