Two people arrested following early morning armed robbery

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at approximately 3:30 am, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of a robbery in progress.

A woman entered a convenience store at a local gas station in the community and demanded cash and merchandise.

The woman, dressed all in black, produced a knife and fled on foot with property from the business.

Kitimat RCMP immediately responded to the area and located a woman believed to be responsible for the robbery. She was in the company of another person and both subjects were arrested without incident.

The woman, who has been charged with robbery, has been remanded in custody pending a court appearance on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. The man was also held in custody on previous, unrelated warrants.

The investigation is ongoing and police continue to investigate to determine what, if any, connection there may be to the robberies from May 12, 2021.
