
Downtown weapon’s assault, police investigating

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for video and witnesses related to a late night assault report near Lansdowne Street.
On June 7, 2023, around 10:45 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 400-block of Lansdowne Street, where a person was heard yelling for someone to call 911. Police located a man with injuries nearby, who stated he had been slashed with a weapon.
The victim allegedly got into an argument with another man in an alleyway between 4th and 5th avenues, just prior to the assault,
said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
The victim ran toward the street and yelled for help. He was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was described as a Caucasian man, approximately 30 years old, 5’8, with a shaved head, dressed all in black with a backwards hat. The suspect was with a Caucasian woman who had dirty blond hair and was wearing a pink shirt.
