Investigation into sudden death of Gregory “Troy” Hamilton is ongoing

What caused the death of a man discovered in a dumpster recently is still under investigation, following a recent autopsy.

Gregory Troy Hamilton, who also went by the alias of Troy Hamilton and the nickname ‘Monster’, was located deceased in a dumpster between two buildings on the 1900-block of Curlew Drive around 11:30 p.m., Thursday April 20, 2023.

The circumstances are suspicious surrounding the manner in which he was discovered, said Sergeant Nestor Baird of the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit. We are continuing to work with the BC Coroners Service to determine an exact cause of death.

Members of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Serious Crime Unit, General Investigation Support Team, Forensic Identification Services Unit, and Frontline Officers are involved in the investigation and continue their appeal to the public for information and video to help timeline Troy’s Hamilton’s last movements.
