The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an assault with a weapon investigation.

On April 15, 2023, around 5:18 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road for a report of a man suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police have obtained security video from the 400-block of Tranquille Road where the assault occurred, which includes an image of the suspect, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. The assault is very deliberate and direct, and numerous people were present to witness while it occurred. We are requesting they contact police as soon as possible to discuss what transpired.

Businesses and homes in and around the area are asked to please check their security cameras to see if they captured additional images of the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

• Male
• Larger build
• Approximately 6’

Wearing:

• Dark jacket with a blue or purple logo on the back
• Ball cap under the hood of the jacket
• Draw-string bag on his back
• Blue and black duffle bag
• White or beige face mask
• White Nike shoes with a black stripe up the back
