File # 2022-35951

A man is facing charges related to robbery, weapon possession, and threats, following his arrest in Sahali late Friday afternoon.

On Oct. 7, 2022, around 5:05 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 700-block of Summit Drive after a man allegedly stole from a business in the area, then produced what appeared to be a weapon when chased by an employee.

With the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, officers located a suspect nearby and took him into custody without issue, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He was held for a weekend bail hearing and remanded until his next court appearance, scheduled for sometime today.

Justin Wade Worthington, 42, of Kamloops, is charged with one count each of: robbery; possession of a weapon, a flashlight, for a purpose dangerous to the public peace or for committing an offence; and uttering threats.
