Invitation: Please join Coquitlam RCMP for a Community Event

As a result of two recent violent incidents within Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam RCMP will be hosting a community event to engage with residents and businesses to answer any questions they may have about community safety in the neighbourhood.

These events will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in Coquitlam and Sunday, December 4, 2022 in Port Coquitlam. This will allow people living and working in both Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam to connect directly with Coquitlam RCMP, including police officers who work in the community.

The event will be an opportunity for the public to engage with Coquitlam RCMP by addressing community concerns by providing emotional support, education and access to additional resources onsite. These resources will include: Victim Services, Community Police Volunteers, Police officers, Home and Personal Safety information, and Block Watch information.

This event will include Coquitlam RCMP Community Volunteers, Block Watch, Victim Services, Community Police officers and Senior Coquitlam RCMP officers.

Coquitlam Community Event Details:

• Saturday, December 3, 2022
• Mundy Road Elementary located at 2200 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam
• 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Drop in - No RSVP required

Port Coquitlam Community Event Details:

• Sunday, December 4, 2022
• James Park Community School located at 1761 Westminster Avenue, Port Coquitlam
• 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Drop in - No RSVP required

When a neighbourhood experiences a serious incident, we know that people can have questions around safety, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Coquitlam RCMP will be in your neighbourhood to talk to local residents about your concerns on December 3 and 4, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
