• Secure your wireless networks - Wi-Fi (wireless) are vulnerable to intrusion if not secured.
• Protect your e-identity - Make sure that websites you provide information on are secure
• Watch out for Scams - Never reply to emails that ask you to verify your information or confirm your user ID or password

• Place computers and mobile devices in busy family areas to monitor activity if need be
• Work with your child or teen and have regular, casual conversations on how to behave safely online
• Teach your teen that anything they post online can be public, and it takes effort to make it private
• Search your teen’s name using search engines to see what comes up on their public record

• Cyberbullying and ‘Sexting’ is a serious offence and can result in criminal charges
• Only share images you would be okay with the world seeing.
• Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say to someone’s face
• Keep personal details to a minimum
• Use privacy settings and turn off location services
