Coquitlam RCMP are seeking witnesses and video following a fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred on the Oxford Connector near Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP frontline officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene while the pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian, a 44-year-old woman from Port Coquitlam, ultimately succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

said Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant John Graham. This is a tragic and devastating loss for our community.
Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services and BC Emergency Health Services also attended the scene. The 1900 block of Oxford Connector in Port Coquitlam was shut down for several hours after the incident.
