Coquitlam RCMP seek witnesses and video following fatal motor vehicle incident

Coquitlam RCMP are seeking witnesses and video following a fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred on the Oxford Connector near Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP frontline officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene while the pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian, a 44-year-old woman from Port Coquitlam, ultimately succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Our thoughts go out to the loved ones of the deceased, said Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant John Graham. This is a tragic and devastating loss for our community.

Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services and BC Emergency Health Services also attended the scene. The 1900 block of Oxford Connector in Port Coquitlam was shut down for several hours after the incident.
