Luckily the resident was suspicious and did not fall for the scam.

A Sechelt resident reported being scammed of $9284.00 by someone claiming to be a Bell Mobility representative who was able to obtain the victims banking information.

A Roberts Creek resident was defrauded after purportedly being recruited by an employment agency offering a job conducting hotel reviews.  The victim transferred $7000 into a bitcoin crypto wallet through WhatsApp.

Impaired Driving

Sunshine Coast RCMP received a report of a male drinking beer in his vehicle while waiting in the ferry line up in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.  The driver, a Sechelt resident, was intercepted by police in Gibsons and provided two breath samples which both resulted in a "Fail" result.  The driver received a driving prohibition of 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
