File # 2025-6480
Police officers in Prince George worked diligently to catch a break-and-enter suspect after five downtown businesses were broken into between March 2, 2025 and March 7, 2025.
The incidents occurred after the buildings were closed up for the night and the employees had left. Despite the lack of witnesses, however, police officers were provided with surveillance from the businesses themselves, as well as from neighbouring businesses, which helped them to identify a suspect. On March 7, 2025, the identified suspect was located by police officers and arrested for breaking-and-entering.
Investigators identified the suspect as 44-year-old Allan Douglas Nigh. Police officers are familiar with Mr. Nigh after having previously dealt with him in similar circumstances.
See previous media release (September 12, 2024).
These incidents were all linked together and a suspect was identified due to how quickly our investigators were provided with good quality video surveillance. Especially in an investigation where finding eye witnesses is not likely, having video surveillance provided directly to investigators is crucial to pulling together the pieces of the investigation as swiftly as this one,
states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Mr. Nigh will remain in custody until his next court appearance. The investigations remain ongoing.
