Police respond to incident involving barricaded male

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m. West Shore RCMP frontline officers and the Vancouver Island RCMP Emergency Response Team, including Crisis Negotiators, responded to an incident involving an adult male in a residence near the 3000 block of Jacklin Rd in Langford.

A male suspect had barricaded himself within the home with an edged weapon. Police established a safety perimeter while Crisis Negotiators negotiated a safe exit of the male who was taken into custody without further incident.

There is no ongoing risk to the public and no reported injuries in this incident. We thank the public for their patience as police worked and came to a safe resolution. As this investigation is ongoing there is no further information that can be released at this time.
