Burnaby RCMP seeks witnesses, dashcam video after collision that critically injured a pedestrian

The Burnaby RCMP is appealing for witnesses and dashcam video after a serious collision that has left a 57-year-old pedestrian with critical injuries.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Burnaby RCMP officers responded to a collision involving a female pedestrian and vehicle which occurred on Imperial Street near Acacia Avenue.

The pedestrian was seriously injured in the collision and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra, which was travelling east on Imperial Street when the crash occurred, remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) is working to determine all of the circumstances which led to the collision.

If you witnessed the collision or have dashcam video and have not yet spoken to police, we would like to hear from you, said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP.

Police are specifically looking for dashcam video taken between 1 pm and 2 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 near Imperial Street, Acacia Avenue, and Hersham Avenue.
