File # 2025-2738
On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Prince George RCMP’s Frontline Police Officers and the North District Emergency Response Team converged on a house on the 2100-block of Shady Lane in response to an ongoing investigation from earlier the same day, which involved a stolen pick up truck.
Police officers located the stolen vehicle at the Shady Lane residence. As this house and those residing there are known to police for having weapons and committing violent acts, the risk to police and the public was deemed high. As such, the Emergency Response Team was tasked with searching the house and vehicle with Frontline Police Officers as part of the ongoing investigation,
states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
A 37-year-old Prince George resident, identified as David Micheal O’Neill, was arrested in connection with the substantive investigation. The following charges were approved in this matter:
- Robbery
- Forcible confinement
Mr. O’Neill was held in custody until he could attend court. Two other people were also located in the residence; one person was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant and the third person was released without process.
This investigation remains ongoing.
