Langley RCMP issue 120 speeding tickets during a traffic enforcement initiative

Officers from the Langley RCMP ramped up traffic enforcement after numerous complaints were received from residents relating to speeding vehicles in their communities.
Between December 15, 2024 to January 6, 2025, a total of 120 speeding tickets were handed out to drivers who were caught speeding in both the City of Langley and the Township of Langley.
Statistics collected during this time period reveals the following:
- 63 violations of speed in school zones and or playground zones
- 49 violations of speed in municipality
- 8 violations of excessive speed, where drivers were caught going at least 41 KM/HR over the posted limited. These violations also came with a mandatory 7-day Vehicle Impoundment.
On January 7, 2025, two drivers were caught travelling 112 KM/HR in a 50 KM/HR zone. Both drivers were served excessive speed violation tickets and had their respective vehicles impounded for 7 days.
