A flat-deck trailer with a Polaris RZR 4-seater side-by-side was stolen from a residence on Cottonwood Street around 5pm on January 5. A few hours later, a white 2004 Ford F-350 with a flat deck was stolen from 11th Avenue near Dunsmuir Street. The truck can be easily identified through the cedar-plank flat-deck, as well as the tool box and spare tire tied down on the deck. There is no indication these two thefts are related. See attached photos – anyone with information about these thefts is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.

Around 8 am on December 31, Mission RCMP received a report of an altercation inside a fast food restaurant in Mission. Officers attended and learned that two males had been using drugs at a table inside the restaurant, when they were apparently confronted by a third male. An altercation ensued, leading to one of the men using drugs sustaining minor injuries. The third male left prior to police arrival and was not identified. Everyone was asked to leave the restaurant.

On the evening of New Year’s Eve, police conducted a proactive stop of a vehicle that was speeding on Hurd Street. An officer spotted a knife near the driver, and he was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The driver was also determined to be prohibited from driving, and in breach of a Probation Order. A collapsible baton was also found in the vehicle. The driver was held for a court hearing.

Mission RCMP were called by staff at a liquor store on 11th Avenue on the evening of January 2, after an ongoing issue with a group of youth outside. Four teenagers were reportedly throwing things at a homeless male outside, and throwing rocks at a nearby business. Staff said they have also had recent issues with a group of youth trying to steal items from the liquor store. Officers attended and located a group of youth nearby who matched the description provided by staff. The youth initially tried to run from police, but quickly ran out of steam and were all detained. No injuries were reported and no damage had been done, so the youth were turned over to a parent.

An officer with Mission RCMP’s Traffic Services unit was stationed on the Abbotsford side of the Mission Bridge on the morning of January 3, when he observed a truck heading toward Mission at a high rate of speed. The officer used laser equipment to determine that the truck was travelling at 135 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone. The officer pulled over the truck, and determined that the 24-year-old driver from Langley was due to be served a 3-month driving prohibition, due to his previous driving history. The driver – who had a Novice driver’s license – also had 5 passengers and was not displaying a Novice driver’s sign. He was served multiple tickets, and his 2025 pickup truck was impounded for 7 days.

A white Toyota Sienna crashed into the carport of a residence on Blueberry Drive shortly before 4 pm on January 5. The driver said she lost control after swerving to avoid a blue car that was travelling toward her in her lane. Two other vehicles were damaged as well. The driver of the Sienna was transported to hospital, but had no serious injuries.
