Police looking for witnesses and dashcam footage after a fatal hit and run on 176 Street and 26 Avenue in Surrey

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that 176 Street is closed between 32 Avenue and 24 Avenue following fatal motor vehicle collision.
On November 07, 2024, at 5:06 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Police, Paramedics and Surrey Fire Service attended the scene and located the one male deceased.
The investigation is in the early stages and the cause of the collision has not yet been determined. Road closures on 176 Street in both directions between 32 Avenue and 24 Avenue will be in effect for an undetermined amount of time.
Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.

On November 7, 2024, at 5:06 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Police officers, Paramedics and Surrey Fire Service attended the scene and located one male deceased.
The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating the fatal hit and run. Officers believe a 66-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was driving southbound on 176th Street in the area of 26th Avenue. The suspect vehicle did not remain on scene.
Police is seeking witnesses and dashcam footage between 4:50 pm to 5:20 pm.
