Police investigate mischief to the rainbow crosswalk

On Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 8:00 am, Vanderhoof RCMP received a report of mischief to property.

It was reported that the rainbow cross walk located on Victoria Street East and Butte Ave had been spray painted sometime overnight. Initial attendance by Vanderhoof RCMP confirmed that the crosswalk had been spray painted in neon orange with words Speak Truth Save The Kids.

CCTV footage from the area show that on Saturday, October 19, 2024 between 00:03 - 00:07 am, two unknown individuals, possibly males, in dark clothing and light shoes are seen at the crosswalk and appear to be responsible. They are then seen walking away, eastbound on Victoria St E.

Vanderhoof RCMP are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime. Anyone with information on this is asked to contact the Vanderhoof RCMP at 250-567-2222.
