15 newly hired experienced police officers (EPO’s) completed their RCMP onboarding and are set to attend training in October 2024. These officers joined us from police forces nation-wide and have been assigned to detachments and specialty units across BC.
As these officers already bring with them a wealth of knowledge and skill, they will attend a modified three-week troop, for orientation to the RCMP. The training takes place at the Pacific Region Training Centre in Chilliwack and includes courses in RCMP interviewing techniques, policy and procedures and tactical training. The officers reported to their first posting at the end of October.
Officers of the October 2024 EPO Troop are assigned to:
- Federal Policing
- Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit
- Police Dog Services
- Integrated Sexual Predator Observation Team
- North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Detachment
- Penticton RCMP Detachment
- Kelowna RCMP Detachment
- Indigenous Policing Services - Merritt RCMP Detachment
- Sooke RCMP Detachment
- E Division Major Crimes
