The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is releasing an image of a suspect to help further an assault and robbery investigation.

On July 18, 2024, around 10:48 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of an assault on the 100-block of Victoria Street West. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Based on the investigation, police discovered the victim had been violently assaulted and robbed nearby in the area of First Avenue and Victoria Street West, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Since then, investigators have obtained an image of a suspect, which is being released to the public with the hopes that someone will be able to identify him and help further the investigation.
