Coquitlam RCMP investigate fatal vehicle fire in Coquitlam

Coquitlam RCMP are investigating a fatal vehicle fire in the parking lot of the City Centre Aquatic Complex located at 1210 Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.

Coquitlam RCMP Frontline officers attended the parking lot of the City Centre Aquatic Complex in Coquitlam for a report of a vehicle fire on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 11:35 a.m. Upon attendance, Police located one person deceased inside the vehicle.

This is a deeply tragic incident, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. We want to assure the public that there is no risk to the public as this is believed to be an isolated event and is not linked to any on-going conflicts.

The file is still under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file 2024-24487.
