Surrey RCMP seeking witnesses in aggravated assault

Surrey RCMP is appealing to the public for witnesses in an aggravated assault investigation.

On September 8, 2024 at approximately 12:38 a.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a park located in the area of 120 Street of 70 Avenue. Upon arrival, police located two victims who had been assaulted.

The victims, men ages 18 and 22, were transported to hospital. The 18-year old man was treated and released and the 22-year-old man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation and is continuing with CCTV canvassing of the area.

Police believe that someone must have seen or heard something suspicious around the time of this incident, says Cst. Parmbir Kahlon, Media Relations Officer with Surrey RCMP. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 12:00 am and 1:00 am on September 8, 2024, to call police, added Cst. Kahlon.
