File # 2024-2169
The Northern Rockies RCMP are seeking witnesses to a suspicious house fire that occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday.
On September 8, 2024 at 12:25 a.m., the Northern Rockies RCMP received a report of a house fire on the 5300 block Cottonwood Road. Fort Nelson Fire Rescue also responded to the scene and eventually extinguished the flames. Neighbouring homes also suffered fire damage from the blaze.
The house was determined to be unoccupied and no one appears to have been injured in the fire.
Later that morning, the Northern Rockies RCMP responded to a second fire, this time to an apparently unoccupied camper on the 5400 block of 48 Avenue.
Both fires are suspicious in nature and investigators are working to determine if they are related,
said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP. We are looking to speak with anyone with any information about either of these fires who has yet to speak with police.
Anyone with any information, surveillance video or dashcam footage from either area is urged to contact the Northern Rockies RCMP at 250-774-2700.
