BCHP searching for witnesses for Terrace fatality

On August 27, 2024, at approximately 6:32 PM, Terrace RCMP and BC Highway Patrol were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Highway 16 approximately 25 kilometres west of Terrace, BC. Upon arrival, police located a sedan upside down in a ditch next to the highway.
Despite life saving efforts by emergency responders, the 35-year old male passenger from Prince Rupert passed away. The male driver survived and was transported to hospital for his injuries.
Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs were contributing factors. ICARS attended and is investigating. BC Highway Patrol are looking for witness and anyone with dashcam of the incident or of events leading up to the incident to call BC Highway Patrol – Smithers at (250) 847-3233 and refer to file 2024-3313.
