North Vancouver RCMP investigating death of two people; IHIT assuming conduct

North Vancouver RCMP is currently on scene following an incident at an apartment in the Lower Lonsdale area.

On August 20th, 2024, at 4:30 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP responded to reports of two people that had fallen off of a balcony at an apartment complex in the 100 block of East Esplanade Ave. Officers arrived and located two females suffering from injuries sustained from the fall. First responders, including fire and BC Ambulance Service, immediately began lifesaving measures. Sadly, the two females were later pronounced deceased.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the North Vancouver RCMP Serious Crime Unit.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase; further information will be provided by IHIT.
