On August 18 at approximately 9:45 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into a fence of a home near 2500 block of Selwyn Rd in Langford.

Frontline officers attended the scene along with Langford Fire Department and located a 1993 BMW 320I with it's front end crashed into a fence. The driver, a 40-year-old male, was the only occupant. Witnesses advised police the driver had slurred speech and was possibly impaired.

An impaired driving investigation ensued and the driver provided samples of his breath into an Approved Roadside Screening Device with fail results, registering as being over the legal limit of alcohol allowed in the body.

The driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle has been impounded for 30 days. Remarkably no one was injured in this collision.
