Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in a break-and-enter incident that occurred in March 2024.

On March 9, 2024, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP received and immediately responded to reports of a break and enter to a residence in the 24600 block of Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge. Frontline officers attended the scene and observed significant property damage to the residence and a nearby vehicle. While clearing the residence, police also observed evidence consistent with a failed arson attempt.

Maple Ridge Fire Department also attended the scene.

A review of video surveillance shows the following:

On March 8, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., an unknown male trespassed on to a residential property in the 24600 block of Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge. In the video surveillance footage, the male was observed breaking and entering into a vehicle and the residence. The male proceeded to severely damage the interior of the residence before attempting to burn the residence down.

Police have exhausted all investigational tools in an attempt to identify the suspect and are now reaching out to the public for assistance.

Ridge Meadows RCMP is releasing still-images of video surveillance to seek the public’s help to identify the suspect and further the investigation. Please note that the suspects face is obscured to ensure compliance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
