Impaired driver receives 24 hour driving suspension in Trail
File # 2024-1954
On Friday, May 17, 2024, at 5:48 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer spotted a 59-year-old Trail man driving a vehicle with a broken headlight in the 1500 block of Second Street, in Trail, BC. The officer detained the man and his vehicle roadside.
The officer made observations that lead him to believe the man’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by a drug. A demand was read to the man, who failed a roadside sobriety test.
The 59-year-old Trail man was issued a 24-hour Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act and had his vehicle removed from the roadway due to serious safety defects.
Trail RCMP will be continuing to target impaired drivers in a effort to keep our roads safe,
says Sgt. Wicentowich
