Langley RCMP assist Canadian Pacific Kansas City Police with fatal accident involving CN Train.

On May 22nd 2024 at approximately 4:29 pm, Langley RCMP was notified of a serious accident involving a CN train and a pedestrian on 204th street and Duncan Way., Langley.

Initial investigation has indicated that the CN Train was travelling 30km/h westbound on the north track when the CN Train crew observed a male on the tracks. The CN Train crew sounded their bells and whistles to alert the male who remained unresponsive to the crews attempts. The train was then placed into an emergency stop procedure. 

Langley frontline officers responded to the scene along with Langley Fire Services, and Langley Emergency Health Services to assist the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Police in their investigation. Unfortunately, the pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  The CN Train crew were uninjured and remained at scene.  

If you were driving in the area around the time, please review any dash cam footage you may have. Anyone who has information regarding the accident or witnessed it is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604 532 3200.
