Northern Rockies RCMP with the support of our North District RCMP Detachments are pleased to confirm that additional RCMP members are currently in the Fort Nelson community.

The members will provide 24/7 coverage for Fort Nelson and the immediate outlying area. Two members of the North District Indigenous Policing Service are currently in community to provide added support to both the Fort Nelson First Nations and the Prophet River First Nations. Support from BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) has also been provided to the community and surrounding area.

These RCMP members will remain in the Fort Nelson community to provide essential police services. The members will be conducting patrols throughout the neighborhoods and will check local businesses to prevent property crime from occurring.

We wish to remind the public that Fort Nelson is still under an evacuation order and we encourage citizens to continue to follow the order. This will allow the RCMP members to be available to conduct continuous proactive patrols in the community.
