Langley RCMP investigate after a man found with a gunshot wound

Langley RCMP is currently on scene in the Willoughby area of Langley for a report of man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

At approximately 6:30 am on Tuesday April 30, 2024, Langley RCMP responded to a report from British Columbia Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) of a man on the side of the road with injuries consistent with those of a gunshot. Frontline Officers responded to 20400 block of 68th Avenue and located BCEHS with the man. The man was conscious and breathing and transported to hospital by BCEHS with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The initial investigation has revealed the location the man was located at may have not been the location of the incident.

Officers are in the area conducting neighborhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages and Police are working to determine the location and possible motive for the shooting.

Currently, 68th Avenue from 204 to 205 Avenue is closed. It will remain closed for the next 2-3 hours.
Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage around the area of 68 Avenue between 204 and 208 Street between 6:00 am to 6:30 am, is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file 2024-13283.
