Police seek witnesses and video after locating injured man

Coquitlam RCMP are seeking witnesses and dash-cam video after an unconscious injured man was located along Guildford Way near Falcon Drive in Coquitlam.

On Friday, December 1, 2023 at approximately 11:55 p.m. a 56-year-old unconscious man was located laying in the south-side bicycle lane of Guildford Way with significant injuries to his head. The man was subsequently transported to the hospital.

The man is believed to have been walking east alone, along Guildford away on the south side of the street between 11:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

The man can be described as:

• Caucasian
• 56-years old
• Shaved head
• Brown beard
• Blue eyes
• 6’ tall
• Heavy build

The man was wearing:

• Black suit
• Black blazer
• White dress shirt
• Dark dress shoes or bare feet

The file has been assumed by the General Investigation Section (GIS). Victim Services is engaged.

Police are attempting to piece together the timeline of events which lead to the man injuries, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. We are asking anyone who may have seen a lone man in a dark dress suit walking east along the south-side of Guildford Avenue between 11:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1580.
