BC Highway Patrol – Kelowna seeks witnesses as they investigate single vehicle collision on Highway 97c

On August 6, 2023 at approximately 12:30am, West Kelowna RCMP and BC Highway Patrol’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services (BCHP CARS) attended a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 97c near the Trepanier Road offramp in Peachland, BC. Personnel from BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), BC Coroner Service and Fire Rescue were also in attendance.

Initial investigation indicates that a westbound green Volkswagen Golf exited its lane of travel and rolled into the oncoming lanes. One occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and the remaining occupants were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

BC Highway Patrol – Kelowna has conduct of the investigation which is still in the very early stages. Speed and impaired driving have not been ruled out as contributing factors and no further details are available.
