BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby investigating collision involving commercial truck on Highway 99

On July 18, 2023 at approximately 11:15am, BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby, Delta Police Department, and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement (CVSE) attended a report of a commercial truck striking the Highway 17A overpass on Highway 99 southbound in Delta.

There were no serious injuries, however the Highway 17A overpass sustained substantial damage. BCHP – Burnaby has conduct of the investigation.

Highway 99 southbound at Highway 17A, as well as Highway 17A southbound at Highway 99 will be closed while a structural assessment of the overpass is completed. Traffic is being diverted to the Highway 17A offramp. There is no estimated time of reopening and Motorists are advised to avoid the area and check DriveBC for updates.
